Bound in white calf, tooled in gold to an all-over arabesque design with solid tools. In the centre of the upper cover: a tool depicting Cupid standing on a globe, at each side of him a pair of crossed arrows. In the centre of the lower cover: a hand with a finger pointing upwards, surrounded by small stars. Traces of two pairs of ties. Sewn on three split alum-tawed supports, laced in, showing as raised bands on the spine, tooled in gold with a line; the real bands alternate with four false bands, tooled in gold with dashes. The top two compartments have a parchment title label; compartments 3-8 are tooled in gold with a flower. Pink and white silk endbands over cord cores, single with a bead; cores laced in. Gilt and gauffered edges with a knot-pattern; traces of red staining. White paper paste-downs and one free paper endleaf. The initials “GA” in gold are found twice: on the colophon page of Bembo and on the verso of the title page of Terracina. On the title page of Bembo: “A Barbet/ 996/ 672”. Part I: 63-(7) numbered leaves. Part II: 78 (misnumbered 84) numbered leaves. Part III: 65-(5) numbered leaves. Part IV: 60 numbered leaves.
