Description

This binding with the arms of Pope Clement IX was made in Rome around 1668. Giulio Rospigliosi was born in 1600; from 1644 to 1653 he was Nuncio in Spain; he became a cardinal in 1657 and was elected Pope, taking the name of Clement IX, in 1667. He died in 1669.
