Imprints#1: Alice Visentin

06.06.2026 - 29.11.2026

Opening: 6 June at 11.30 am

Imprints takes its cue from a requirement inherent to the Cerruti Collection: the need for visitors to wear shoe covers during their visit. Building on this conservation requirement, the project initiates a series of commissions that transforms a constraint into an opportunity for artistic creation. The ‘artist shoe covers’ accompany visitors on their tour of Villa Cerruti and, at the end of the visit, can be purchased, serving as both functional items and collectables.

The first edition is by Alice Visentin (Ciriè, 1993), an artist whose practice focuses on the image and its capacity to influence perception. Her work encompasses painting, drawing and installation, drawing inspiration from both oral narratives and literature. Her works draw on stories and characters from both popular and courtly culture, giving shape to fantastical worlds where contemporary imaginaries intertwine with mountain traditions linked to her origins. Recent exhibitions include: Everyday Mystery (Giò Marconi, Milan, 2024) and The Morning Tide of Moods (Lateral Rome, 2023). She also took part in Espressioni con Frazioni at the Castello di Rivoli (2022) and was a fellow at the American Academy in Rome in 2023.
