Francesco Fei's docu-film starring Fabrizio Bentivoglio, produced by Apnea Film with the participation of METS Percorsi d'Arte and premiered at the Rome Film Festival, recounts the tormented life of Divisionist painter Giuseppe Pellizza, famous for his Quarto Stato and his ability to investigate the human soul and society.

Exploring the places where he lived and his artistic sensibility with Bentivoglio's guidance as ‘narrating conscience’, PELLIZZA PITTORE DA VOLPEDO reveals the artist's emotions and his vision of reality through a refined use of shots inspired by the colours of his works.

The tragic end of Pellizza, who took his own life in 1907 overwhelmed by grief at the loss of his wife, is part of this tale and makes the viewer's emotional bond with his art even deeper.

The contribution of Pellizza da Volpedo's foremost expert, Aurora Scotti, and the collaboration with the Associazione Pellizza da Volpedo add historical relevance to the film, which does not merely list works and dates, but invites the audience to discover an artist who, despite belonging to his time, still speaks to the present.

The film was made in collaboration with Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona, with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte - Piemonte Doc Film Fund, with the contribution of Gallerie Maspes in Milan and in collaboration with Sky Arte.
