Bound, c. 1540, probably in Paris, in brown calf, tooled in gold with interlacing ribbons and gouges, forming unicorn heads in the corners and two grotesque masks above and below a centre cartouche, all on a semis of small dots; traces of black and possibly oxidised-silver paint. Edges of boards: gold tooled with a small, partial roll, of a commonly used kind. Sewn on four alum-tawed supports, laced in. Smooth spine, tooled in gold with gouges and dots, traces of black paint. Pink and white endbands, double with a bead, probably over alum-tawed cores. Gilt and gauffered edges. White paper paste-downs and endleaves. On the title page is an erased ownership inscription: “Ex libris Iacopi Marii Ambosia”(?) and in manuscript: “Ex libris urbani ollivarii Bellyerrion”(?)
